Maddie crept into the library, Ashton and Matt shadowing her. Scary, she thought as she looked around her. Everything had been left as it was in the Beginning. Real freaky. She shuddered. They weren't here to raid. They weren't even here to look around. No, they were searching for survivors. They tended to make for the schools, hospital or the library, though none of them knew why. Most of them got mauled by the walkers on their way out. There were only a few who got away, and most of them were bitten or scratched. At one point in the Beginnin, the Hideout's quarantine had been full to bursting point with bitten and changing humans. Everyone hoped it would never be that way again. Everyone but the zombies.

Ashton walked close to Maddie, her pump action rifle trained on anything that moved. Matt was close behind her, bringing up the rear as usual, as the group of Raiders searched the old abandoned library for other survivors who were unfortunate enough to get caught in the old building. Usually, they found other humans in the schools. Sometimes they even visited the people living in the University, known around here as the 'School Survivors', and tried to convince them to come live down in the Hideouts. They never did follow them back, but they did send supplies that the Raiders couldn't find anywhere else which was nice of them.

Books were strewn everywhere. Maddie made her way around them silently, trying to take quiet, even footsteps that wouldn't alert any zombies in the area to their presence. She still didn't see why they had to scan the library when they knew there was never anyone in there. Every single survivor who came to the area took one look at the library and realised that it was a zombie hotspot and steered as clear of it as they could. Most of the time, they made it to the Uni and stayed there for a while, though sometimes they just fell into the grasps of the zombies or Raider groups.

Ash continued on behind Maddie, Rifle out and ready to shoot anything that looked as though it could be a zombie. You couldn't let your guard down once in this place. Ina ny place, really.

Ellie walked slowly through the library, waiting to shoot anything that seemed to be a zombie. She rounded a corner (read: a fallen bookshelf) and walked right into a girl with curly blonde hair. The girl let out a squeak of fright, but Ellie managed to curb herself. She turned her efforts to pointing her handgun at the girl. Two others walked up behind the blonde, one, a female, with dark hair, holding a gun and a male holding a samaurai sword. It was obvious that they were human, but she still wanted to know if they had been bitten or scratched by one of the dead. The easiest way to tell if they were infected was to look into the eyes. They went opaque when a human was changing into a zombie. "Infected?" she barked at them sharply.

Maddie let out a terrified squeak at being walked into by another survivor. "We're not infected. We're from the Hideout on the other side of town. Are you... Hiding here?" she asked, not quite sure what to say to a lost survivor who seemed so zombie savvy.

Matt trained his gun on the other girl. "Are you infected?" he asked her snidely.

Ellie snorted unattractively. "No, I'm not infected, and no, I don't hide here. I'm Eliana James, founder of the Aston Hall Uni survivor group. I assume that you lot are the Hideout Raiders." She shook each of their hands in turn. "I'm here looking for any survivors who are unfortunate enough to walk in here. I gues you lot are doing the same thing, otherwise you'd still be in your Hideout figuring out another way to find others like us."

Ashton slapped her thigh with a grin. "God, why didn't I recognise you?! I spoke to you last week about the Hideout! Ashton Douglas," she said, pointing at herself. "How's your lot doing? I heard that Jon Watson got bitten last night." she said sadly; she had like Jon. "Kaila and Tash tried to help him, but they said it was too late."

Matt smiled too. "So YOU'RE the infamous Ellie James!" he said quietly with an almost silent laugh. "Nice to finally meet you."

Ash rolled her eyes. "Matt, we need to keep it down. There are zombies waiting outside, you know. So, Ellie," she said, changing tack at high speed, turning to face the other girl. "Did you find anything, anyone?" she asked in a quiet voice. She knmew that the Uni didn't have as many survivors as the Hideout.

Eliana looked around reflexively in case any zombies had gotten in while they had been distracted talking. That was the first rule of Raiding: never get distracted. Always keep your eyes open for anything that could be a zombie. "I vote than we get out of here, because our chances of finding a survivor in this mess is less than 0%." she said to the group.

Ashton nodded at Ellie and then turned to look at the others. "Guys, she's right. The chances of any survivors being in here is really low because, well, they make for the places that look like they might have people in there that are alive. Like the Uni, the Hideout and the shops. Well, some of the shops," she corrected and smiled at them grimly. "Plus, Walkers and Old Ones are always in this area. If they thought for one minute that we were actually in here, they'd be all over us like a rash. And that's not good. Let's get out of here."
